According to the Logitech employee that posts from time to time, Logitech's focus has been on developing the UE Music Library (= server) as the alternative to LMS to run on local hardware to support the UE Smart Radio. Now that the UE Smart Radio has been released, Logitech say they will support both LMS and UEML, so expect to see an update of LMS soon. But don't expect any ground-breaking updates of LMS (or UEML as it's a dumbed-down product).
