While viewing the playlist (from "Now Playing") Tap the edit button (top right, just under the battery), tap the check mark button (bottom left), tap trash can (bottom right). It's just one tap more than it used to be, but you can do it while looking at the playlist. You used to have to use the pull down "edit playlist thingy".
