I have the same problem with LMS 7.7.2 and Spotify 2.2.9 on Ubuntu. Whenever i try to enter the password it is erased. But i did some snooping around and i noticed that the time for the prefs file for the plugin did not change when i tried to enter a password. So i edited the prefs file with an editor and entered my password that way. The password box in the settings page is still blank, but i can stream music from spotify.
