That's good :)
However, not everybody is. There are a few things that can be improved
besides just making something "new". Quite a number of buttons on the
top bar as well as the progess slider are not so easy to hit and even I
sometimes have to think for a moment which of the dropdowns will get me
the player list and which the current playlist.
Also, I'd like to be able to permanently show (optionally) the current
playlist.
And then the playlist screen saver should really also become a full
playlist because this is a bit hard to understand.

It's these kind of things where I believe iPeng for iPad's UI can use
some improvement.

It was similar with the iPhone UI. Doing what I did now in iPeng for
iPhone would have been a bit of a nuisance when the original iPeng UI
was developed, back in iOS 2.0 times. Actually the same is true for the
design pre-iOS 5.
Having to reach the player list through the swipe on NowPlaying has been
a real source of confusion for many users, as was the fact that you
could not see on the main menu which player it is you are controlling.
These were real problems that needed solving.
The new style then was really a case of: "it's changing anyway and we
have more options now, so let's see what a cool design for this layout
would look like". After all, it will probably have to last for a few
more years, I don't plan to change the UI style every few months.

Oh, no. I don't have time for that.

I'm not aware of any real issues so far. Is there anything you can
reproduce on how to cause it? Which OS is this? I have tested the 3rd
gen devices only with iOS 5, I heard 6 is a real stretch for them,
memory wise. But I do know some of my beta testers used the 3GS with iOS
6 and reported no issues.

And most importantly: Please also make sure you enable crash logging on
the iPhone under "Settings->About->Diagnostics & Usage".

Um... Which problem exactly? I did not fully understand what exactly you
are doing and what problem you are seeing? iPeng crashes if you use
Triode's Spotify plugin? When playing in iPeng or on a Squeezebox? And
what do you mean by "jumping around in a number of playlists"?
