OK, that got me testing. I went to my wife's radio and tried BBC
streams, they worked perfectly. I had been trying on a SoftSqueeze, a
nexus 7, SqueezeSlave and an original SqueezeBox, none of whichh work.

I thought you might be asking if the faad was executable, but it appears
to be:

Code:
--------------------
    pi@raspberrypi ~ $ ls -la /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Bin/arm-linux
  total 4428
  drwxr-xr-x 2 squeezeboxserver nogroup 4096 Jan 6 18:19 .
  drwxr-xr-x 6 squeezeboxserver nogroup 4096 Jan 6 18:13 ..
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 191993 Jul 8 2012 faad
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 481368 Mar 14 2012 faad.old
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 458856 Mar 14 2012 flac
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 138852 Mar 14 2012 mac
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 208332 Mar 14 2012 sls
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 2745048 Mar 14 2012 sox
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 squeezeboxserver nogroup 288456 Mar 14 2012 wvunpack
--------------------

I noticed and remembered that I had replaced the original faad with one
from the guide I had followed at
http://allthingspi.webspace.virginmedia.com/lms.php.

I thought that it couldn't hurt to swap out the new and try the old and
it worked right away!

Thank you for your help.
