Not really.
Which file format is this?
Do you sync iPeng with another Squeezebox?
I understand iPeng does continue to play and the player is still
controllable, it just skips to the next track?

This sounds like either a problem with transcoding (but then you'd have
to use WMA or ALAC) or a connection issue.

Whenever iPeng's player temporarily loses the connection to the server,
e.g. because of a network issue, playback will skip to the next track
once the buffer runs empty. You can't avoid that with the Squeezebox
protocol (the server automatically does this once you reconnect). This
would point to a network issue, probably with the router.

Transcoding problems on the other hand, can cause all kinds of weird
issues.
You do not have bitrate limiting enabled in iPeng, I assume?
