I don't fully understand the steps you did but saving playlists is
always a server functionality (how else could it be...)
So if you can't save a playlist I would check server's write permission.
Or did you maybe move the playlist folder in the server settings?
Do you use the PlaylistManager plugin? Sounded like it since the "Add
to..." menu is a PlaylistManager menu.

There's a second side of things: If the server writes successfully, it
looks like it still also has to scan the playlist for it to become
visible in iPeng, at least they usually only show up after a few
seconds. Could you check whether scanning is somehow stuck?

The current playlist gets modified by iPeng itself (and then the changes
are notified to the server) when you are editing it in the playlist
view, all others changes, including the "Play next" and "Add to End"
commands run through the server.
