Not sure I understand your point, we haven't gone backwards, but I'm trying to do everything I can to make it do as you desire - as always I'm willing to listen. Next version you will be able to configure it to show "Various Artists" or whatever you set it to as the titled artist of compilations, filed under V on the album list. Myself I prefer not to show any titled artist for compilations, so the configuration will allow me to do that too.
