I'd assume the bottleneck in your setup is your NAS. I used to run LMS
on an Atom-based platform before upgrading to a Celeron-based NAS - this
made a huge difference in performance (especially since it seems the LMS
doesn't really use more than one core, and the database doesn't, either,
after the switch to sqlite).
A playlist with 850 tracks from 91 albums loads in 4 secs from this
NAS.

Interesting that IE10 is that much slower. The web ui framework used in
the GUI has explicit support for IE10 only in the latest version
released a couple of days ago, maybe the difference would be smaller if
I upgraded it (unfortunately, I encountered two severe bugs when
upgrading, so I had to revert back to the older version)

You could try a force reload (press shift while clicking on the reload
button), or clearing FF's cache. Otherwise, we'll probably have to wait
for a new version of FF.

V0.7.0 has initial support for shuffle mode (both native, and when the
shuffle is initiated by another controller), so you might want to give
it a try.

Did you set this using the preferences dialog (as it seems not work for
some people) ?

Thanks for the feedback.
