I have a Touch and am running LMS 7.8 on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2. I primarily
use Orange Squeeze on a Nexus 7 to control it. There are a few things
that happen when using Orange Squeeze that I assume are a result of how
that app handles the info.

Correct.

For example, if I click on "Pictures" I get
thumbnails and when I click on a thumbnail I get a screen that says "No
Items".

That's one of the more hidden features in the protocol we're using. It's mostly been used in the flickr and facebook apps so far. But who running a smartphone/tablet would use LMS to access one of these services? Therefore nobody probably noticed that feature was broken in Orange Squeeze.

Also when I pull up the bio or album review, there are no line
breaks as there are on the web. I simply get a "\n\n" at the end of a
sentence instead of a line break.

\n usually is interpreted as a line change. Orange Squeeze does unfortunately doesn't do so. Again: that's not a specialty of my plugin, but the "textarea" property is rarely used, and probably even less with multiple paragraphs.

I double checked with iPeng and SqueezeCommander, and both of them work as expected. These issues really are Orange Squeeze only. I'll shoot Ben a mail about them.

However, there is one wonky issue I've discovered. If I look up the
album review for Crosby, Stills & Nash's "CSN" I get "CSN 2012" and if I
look up "Deja Vu" I get "Deja Vu Live".

Could you do the same lookups after you've enabled debugging for plugin.musicartistinfo? You would see the data the plugin is receiving. Would CSN 2012 happen to be before CSN in the list of possible results? The current matching algorithm would pick the first item which includes the search term. Is probably a bit simplistic...
