Ok, Music Artist Info v. 0.5.1 is out there, on its way to you. In order
to take advantage of the fancy new features you'll have to install LMS
7.8 later than October 10.
New features:
- Extention to the Default skin to show artist pictures on the artist
page (7.8 only)
- Provide simple to use image URL for 3rd parties to get artist
artwork (7.8 only)
- CLI command for 3rd party applications to get artist artwork (all
versions)
In order to get an artist picture, just open

If you prefer to get the raw image URL from the external source

You can use both "artist:[artist name]" as well as
"artist_id:[artist_id]" parameters to get the artwork.
In order to show off this new feature I added a modification to the
Default web skin, which would show artist artwork in the My Music /
Artists menu (see screenshot in previous posting). If you've been using
the Default skin, then the plugin will automatically switch to the
MusicArtistInfo skin after the update. Should you decide not to use the
modified skin, then you can switch back in the settings. The plugin will
not change the skin again.
Please not that the first time you fire up that page, load time can be
awful, as the plugin will have to look up every single artist in your
collection. But results are cached in LMS, therefore subsequent page
loads should be much faster, even when accessing the page from another
computer.
