I'm sorry I can't work out how to check the DNS on the server, can you point me in the right direction please? I can't find it on the Freenas GUI. My router says DNS is automatic from ISP.
There's a well known issue with FreeNAS and DHCP where it wouldn't set the correct gateway or DNS address automatically. I don't remember where exactly you'll find those settings in the web UI. Just browse the FreeNAS settings and look out for IP v4 configuration. DNS or gateway would be empty or invalid. Replace them with your router's IP address.
