For ME. Not in iPeng :) Or probably also in iPeng then but don't worry,
I didn't assume anyone would want to use that. It would just make things
so much more productive for myself :)

Ha. This explains a lot. Categories 10 and 8 are about things I don't
have and life's too short to distinguish between songs that somewhat
suck and totally suck in categories 4 and lower and also to define
nuances between mediocre tracks (5-7). That's why I could happily live
with only 3 stars ("love it", "it's OK" and "sucks, go away").
Since I can't motivate me to rate "it's OK" songs at all and I rarely
rate "sucks" songs (I skip them instead), the "love" and "ban" scheme
would be perfect for me :)
In reality, I find myself only giving 4- and 5- star ratings at all and
switching between them all the time, depending on mood. So don't be
surprised if one day there is an option showing up in iPeng automating
TrackStat ratings into the "love" button :)
I can tell you what my biggest concern about the 10-fold scale is: I
sense trouble. Not only in implementing it, that's probably not as
complex as I imagine it to be now. But as soon as I do that I see people
asking why they can't import their half-star ratings from iTunes (does
TrackStat do that, I don't think so) or export them to iTunes. Or some
people will not understand that it's half-stars, not 10 stars and how
you switch between them and so on....
I do already have some features in iPeng for which I deeply regret ever
having done them for similar reasons. With landscape mode on iPhone
being the most prominent one...
And there are almost fully developed features missing from iPeng because
I believe they'd be a customer service nightmare, for example
configuring a Duet Receiver. I know how it works and all the command
handling is in iPeng, it just doesn't have any UI (admittedly, the UI is
probably 80% of the work). But I also know it's completely not reliable
and I will never be able to make it reliable because it just isn't....
