FM streaming is no longer as important as it used to be but there are still some reasons for streaming FM through a Squeezebox such as limited broadband in rural areas (in Ireland 3G based service provides 1-2Mbits/sec) and also if there is a broadband usage charge / cap.
The ADS RDX-155-EF Instant FM usb tuner is not an SDR (which is the cheapest and most flexible way to do any radio/FM nowadays but needs a good server processor) but I trhink is based in Silicon Labs chips Si 470x chipset. There is a Linux driver for the chipset see https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/video4linux/si470x.txt .The standard Linux radio interface uses V4L and it sounds like you already have a starting point plugin. The RDS info also has a standard Linux interface see here - http://rdsd.berlios.de/ What you are trying has already been done see this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?64661-Howto-streaming-FM-radio-with-embedded-RDS-information but it looks like lafargue's blog which describes the solutuion has been deleted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100750 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
