No, it's not possible to get it back. That's the price for permanently showing the edit bar, something I had to do because I didn't find a space for the "edit" button in the new layout which has the player tab running across the whole top of the screen which in turn I had to do because I just didn't succeed in finding a way to make the old tab look good under iOS 7. Also, back buttons take more space under iOS 7 so with the old design I would have had to remove all "back" information which I didn't want to do.
The result of all this is that the available space for the playlist simply would be too small if I left the main controls on the screen. As a small workaround you could move the top tab down a bit which would make it hide the "edit" bar but show the volume slider....
