Hm, iPeng clearly loses the connection to the server. And frankly, all you are saying looks like actually the iMac goes to sleep and so does the server. iPeng probably keeps it awake as long as it's running since it will still communicate with the iMac over the network but when iPeng goes to sleep, so does the Mac and the server. Have you tried configuring WOL? Even the Macs setting to wake on Network activity would probably be good enough since iPeng remembers the last server address.
