persist.db is 78MB in my small setup, so 418MB is probably realistic in
your library which is significantly larger than mine.
Are you playing music while scanning ?
Can you try if it makes a difference if you play or doesn't play music,
if I remember correctly someone previously had issues that the
background scheduling in LMS worked differently depending if music was
played or not while scanning was in progress.
