As regards to squeezebox servers eventually shutting down - I think that time will come soon. I don't ever use them now. I have a raspberry pi running Domoticz to control the house, so it is on all the time, this also runs LMS, it's not the quickest, and I don't have any songs on it. It's just something for the radios and touch to talk to and have Spotify on.
