Ooohhh. Thanks for contacting me!!! I knew from crash reports that iPeng 7 was having these issues for some people, but literally nobody was ever contacting me beyond sending crash reports and none of my beta testers seem to have the issue (that's not entirely true, one recent tester has it but for various reasons wasn't able to test a fix, yet). This made it very hard to fix since it wasn't reproducible.
It's a messy situation around memory management. Apple introduced a new memory management model, actually already several years ago (with iOS 5). Since iPeng consists of several 100.000 lines of code I was never courageous enough to convert to it even though there is an automatic converter. For iPeng 7 I finally did the switch and it brought with it this problem. I do actually think I have a fix. A recent change made it somewhat more reproducible and I actually found a petty obscure issue that created the effect, indeed. Would you be willing to test the fix? If yes, could you send me a diagnostics mail from within iPeng? Just tap the mail link under "Help". When we know whether the fix works I'm going to tell you a bit more about it since I'm pretty convinced that it's also related to the rest of your setup and that will probably cause other issues for you, too, but I want to know whether my fix works first :) One thing... I didn't understand this part of your description: Guut_Boy wrote: > Sometimes it only crashes to the "first" screen of iPeng, so no relaunch > is required but it jumps out of whatever menu I am at. Do you mean it leaves the currently selected menu without crashing? That's also not a crash... but probably related to these "other issues with your setup" that I mentioned :) We'll go after that later... That said, iPeng 7 still drops the menu tree when you are in a menu that's under "More", not under one of the other tabs whenever you leave and re-enter the App, moving Spotify to one of the shortcut tabs should help here, also makes definite sense if you are using it so much, doesn't it? --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 7, the Universal App for iOS 7* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
