If you had it working with iso-8859-1 you may edit the startparameter "charset" in the startscript located here: /etc/init.d/logitechmediaserver Default is utf8 as it should work with most languages. There might be a problem with smartmix (I don't know this program) using iso-8859-1 and the squeezeboxserver using utf8.
