Just for information, we have seen multiple problems in ickStream:
- HTTPS API access doesn't work on some boxes, we have seen it on
Synology NAS boxes but possibly there might be others also. This problem
occurred for us towards our own cloud server which also was exposed via
https. Disabling peer verification solves this but it might also be
possible to solve by installing additional CPAN modules, specifically
the one with all certificates which I think was mentioned earlier in
this thread, but I haven't tried this myself.
- Squeezebox/LMS doesn't seem to be able to properly stream via HTTPS.
For SoundCloud we have seen this issue on some streams, it depends from
which server the stream is handled. SoundCloud streams are exposed
through at least two different servers and one support both http and
https while the other only supports https. If the streams come from the
server that only supports https it simply doesn't work while it work if
the track is streamed from the server that supports both http and
https.
We are trying to find a solution for it for ickStream.
