I have a favorite setup that seems to work irrespective of which players
are synced and switched on/started. It is this:
iplayer://live?ms=http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/bbc_london&title=BBC%20London

which seems to get
32kbps CBR, aac

which I think from mysetup, gets transcoded on the server.

This one seems to work when I don't have a squeezeplay client running,
via I assume tunein
http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s24849&formats=aac,ogg,mp3,wmpro,wma,wmvoice&partnerId=16&serial=7a4dfa7e678bdf0773462264216f9c10

Which returns a .m3u file which contains
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/bbclondon.asx

48kbps CBR, Internet Radio
