I have a favorite setup that seems to work irrespective of which players are synced and switched on/started. It is this: iplayer://live?ms=http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/bbc_london&title=BBC%20London which seems to get 32kbps CBR, aac which I think from mysetup, gets transcoded on the server.
