OK, now we are getting closer... ksalno wrote: > SB Player for iPad is a Logitech app for controlling a SB device. > Umm... to avoid future confusion: That App is called "Logitech Squeezebox Controller" (like the hardware). SB Player is a Squeezebox _player_ App (not a controller App) for Android. Calling a controller a "player" is really, really confusing, expect people not to understand what you are talking about when you mix them up.
In the Squeezebox world, a "Controller" is what you use to control a device (or your playback), a "player" is the thing that plays the music. >From what you describe it sounds like there is an issue with iPeng retrieving any data with good performance from your server so that it takes a long time to find devices and a long time to open menus, so that they eventually time out. I can see three possible reasons for this: 1. Your library lookup is slow. You mention that the server runs on a Mac and the data is on a ReadyNAS. This can perform pretty well, I run a similar setup. However: only if you use wired ethernet for the connection between the Mac and the ReadyNAS. If you use WiFi here the performance will be bad. My guess: unlikely. 2. Is your server probably still scanning? There have been issues with scans getting stuck. You can see this in the server's web interface under "Settings->Information". The symptom is that there is an unfinished progress chart being shown there. My guess: somewhat likely. 3. LMS 7.7.1 looks too old to me for MountainLion 10.8.5. Apple regularly updates the Perl version for their OS and 10.8.5 came out 18 months after LMS 7.7.1. Usually this causes trouble, for example Logitech just released LMS 7.7.4 for compatibility reasons with OSX 10.10 and even that might not run perfectly well with OSX 10.10.1 which just came out. So my first suggestion would be to update your server to LMS 7.7.3 or 7.8.1 (there seem to be some issues with 7.7.4, I would not use that unless you need Yosemite). My _very_ first suggestion would of course be to just restart LMS but I assume you have already done that. Also, we've had a performance issue for a short while with ickStream last night (European time), I assume you have tried it again since? The diagnostics info you sent me looks like iPeng found your server just fine and has a good connection to it. So at first glance it doesn't look like a network issue although you can never really rule those out. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 8, the Universal App for iOS 7 and iOS 8* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
