I've checked on Windows Media Player for Win7. It works as long as you enable the remote control of Media Player (located I think under "stream", "allow remote control of my player"). I do not have a WinPhone 8.1 so I cannot check for that precise case. I will try to get one for test in the coming days. I've updated the "compatibility" file on github
