The previous committee that looked at the licence fee 10 years ago said
the same thing, but here we are with the licence fee.

Pay to view would gut the BBC, it would probably end up with a third of
it's current income. This would be a very sorry state of affairs.

The upcoming change to de-crimimalise non licence fee payment will alos
have savage consequences, non payment will be pretty much impossible to
enforce and estimats suggest the BBC income could decline to 75% of what
it is now. And it is already seriously underfunded to the tune of maybe
30%.
