Since it works for Squeezelite but not for Boom - it probably means your
AAC transcoding support is not working.

You have not given much detail on your LMS or  Linux system but usual
problem with pre 7.9 LMS on 64 bit Linux kernel - the transcoding
supports applications are 32 bit binaries and you need to install
compatibilitiy libraries (e.g. ia32-libs for Ubuntu)
