I think from now on I'll use BBC iPlayer Extras as my preferred app for playing Listen Again streams -- which, as I pointed out earlier, is what I want; I hardly ever Listen Live.
Extras does seem more stable in my experience, and I don't see any disadvantage in terms of what it offers compared to BBC iPlayer. In some cases, it gives more, I think, for example in the way it provides additional access to older versions of some shows. Also, I'll be able to report any dithering in the streams, if that's still of use.
