The stops have occurred whatever method has been used. The original method that you sorted out after the changes, i.e using PlayHLS with revised playlist. When Triode updated the iplayer plugin I installed that yet stops still occurred and am currently using v1.3.1 alpha 3. I've not worked out a pattern as sometimes the stream will keep going for hours. Other times, such as last Saturday morning when there were 4 dropouts within a couple of hours. Once the stream stops it doesn't re-start.
