Something like this has been seen before. You might try clearing your browser cache and restarting both browser and LMS.
No, this is caused by the lack of IO::Socket::SSL on the NAS. That URL is being redirected to some https:// url, which can't be handled by LMS if there's no IO::Socket::SSL.
LMS unfortunately can't handle github.com and dropbox.com URLs in many cases. You better try to find some place serving un-encrypted data.
