I just tried ? again as a buffer directory and it worked. I'm baffled, again. It really didn't work before, as the log showed. I can only think that I am failing to stop sq2u, apply, change the parameter, apply, start sq2u again properly each time, and therefore getting myself and sq2u confused. Sorry. For fools like me would it help if you could include a stop/start in 'apply'?
