So I have a bland USB DVD player hanging off a Geode LX 800 machine with LMS installed and CD player works fine. However, the server will (should) be installed in a quiet place and not near the living area; it is wired to the network it this has to stay that way.
So I am looking and this Samsung SE208BW network cd/dvd player, reviews are not too good and it can be found at bargain prices. Looking around I found this thing is in fact an iSCSI target, and 'is hackable.' (https://sites.google.com/site/tssthacks/home) I don't think I care for hacking it, but having no practical experience with iSCSI, I would like to know if CDplayer plugin would see this iSCSI target as a plain local CD player? If so, the CD player could reside within the living area, connected over wifi, and the server could quietly stay in the attic... 4 SB 3 iPeng (iPhone + iPad) SqueezeLite Squeezebox Server 7.8.1 (Debian 7.5) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld ShairTunes by StuartUSA Local Player, BBC iPlayer, SwitchPlayer by Triode Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288
