How about not removing any results, but rather trying to sort them, so that relevant titles get a better chance of being seen, while unlikely ones get shuffeled to the back. That way they'll all be there, so nobody misses out on anything, but the quality of search results is still improved. Does that sound possible?
At first, yes. Then I started to look at the data I get back. And I decided that it would probably be best to totally disable that feature. My sorting is all based around an item's popularity value, which used to be values between 0 and 1. Now most results come with a popularity of 0. Search eg. for "abba gold", and you'd get the anniversary edition with a popularity of 0 (zero, null). And some random other work with 0.1.
Oh, and the algorithm was based on the search which didn't allow to search for "artist title" combinations. It totally doesn't work any more now when you do so. Eg. "abba gold" would only return all those tributes and other stuff with "abba gold" in the title. But not the album "Gold" by artist "ABBA".
That just makes sorting impossible. I'd disable it for now. -- Michael _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
