Hi John - The solution is still made of 2 parts: a Perl LMS plugin that
installs on the LMS server and an executable 'helper' (squeeze2upnp).
The plugin is simply here to help editing the configuration file and,
optionally, restart the executable if it crashes. But the 'helper' is
totally independant. You can run it on any machine in your network, you
just have to edit manually the XML config file.

So if the Roon is capable to control a squeezelite instance, then
squeeze2upnp, running on any computer will make it capable of controling
a UPnP player
