I can't make plugin part of 7.9. Also making ffmpeg part of a a plugin
or 7.9 would probably cause more problems and requires additional
support which is not available as it is a big complex package which
doesn't always function well on all platforms (e.g. leaving zombie
processes).

The better longer term solution would be to rewrite the PlayHLS plugin
using the BBCiPlayer HLS implementation in Perl and then update
RadioTime to support HLS in the same way it used to support RealAudio
when AlienBBC was installed.
