Just thought I would post my experience of the BBC Iplayer streams "dropping out". This seemed to get worse for some reason on my system coinciding with the Christmas break commencing. It was not as bad as this in the lead up to Christmas for some reason.
Sometimes I could only listen to a stream for 30 seconds before it just dropped and wouldn't resume without hitting "play" again. And sometimes you would have to start a different stream and then revert to the original to get back up running. Looking back to the original page of this forum thread, i checked my network and speed tests etc. both over internet and locally and it is all pretty good. I have just changed the DNS servers to google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on my laptop nic settings and it has not yet dropped out. Had already done so 4 or 5 times this morning prior to this, so definitely seems to be related to the dns server on my system at least.
