Thanks for that Ralphy, I tried it but this is really pushing my linux
knowledge to the limit, I know very little about displays as I usually
work console only.

A weird thing happens when I try to run your fb only jivelite,

If I start jivelite from an SSH session I get the "Jive Lite" 1st screen
(on the TV) and then jivelite appears to start but the screen is
"ripped".

If I start jivelite from a console session I get the "Jive Lite" 1st
screen (on the TV) and then the TV goes blank and says "no signal"

I'm assuming this is a resolution thing but have very little idea how to
fix it.
