Thanks to you Michael for all your efforts and illumination. Perhaps you (or someone else) can help clarify this (or just confirm I ain't crazy): I had been using the Triode Spotify plugin (the orange "Core" icon) quite happily until just a few days ago, when the "search" functionality within began throwing the dreaded already-discussed-in-this thread "general transient error". From reading here and elsewhere I gather this is due to Spotify suddenly and without warning changing their API (which I guess is their prerogative and can be expected as they continue to update their app) which impacted the searchlib functionality - basically trashing that component of the Triode plugin. And since it appears that Triode is no longer being maintained/updated, unless Spotify addresses this issue with their API we users of Triode be S.O.L. For me, the search functionality was very key to the complete experience of Spotifying thru my whole-house Squeezebox setup. So then behold I find that Michael has deployed his "Spotify Protocol Handler" plugin, which I promptly set about installing (after de-enabling the Triode plugin) and after ensuring the mysqueezebox.com Spotify connectivity setup I am of to the races. And indeed, I now see the green Spotify icon (in lieu of the Triode orange one) and Spotify indeed plays! And I can search again! But, and not to sound ungrateful or over-demanding (but I realize I probably do sound just like that!), I find that although my beloved search is once again available in Spotify via this plugin, there are a number of features no longer available with the "official Logitech Spotify plugin". These are: 1. No way to backup/restore library like in Triode- so now you have to have all your favorite albums, tracks, artists etc in the Spotify desktop app in order for them to appear - 2. when playing a song, there is no functionality to "add this song to existing playlist" or to a new playlist like in Triode 3. Folders (of playlists) that you create and have in the desktop Spotify do not carry over in this plugin - the folders dont show and you just get all playlists, unlike in Triode These are just a few of the "deficiencies" I'm finding using the official Logitech Spotify plugin. The Triode really had some nice functionality in comparison to the Spotify plugin. On the plus side, the "moods" and other playlists from "regular" Spotify are now available, as is the all-important search. So, I guess I'm just wondering - is this the trade-off that we have to live with now? Continue using the Triode plugin and not be able to search in Spotify (unless some miraculous fix is forthcoming via Spotify API or Mr Triode) or use Michael's Spotify protocol Handler with the official Spotify plugin and lose all those nice features? If I'm missing the mark here please enlighten me - I appreciate all y'all's cumulative wisdom and thoughts!
