I'd just add a word of warning for other users on OSX: this shouldn't be
required. I can't reproduce the issue on my four OSX machines, three of
them running 10.11.3, one of them with the 10.11.4 pre-release. Doing
what is described here to solve your generic SmartMix problem most
likely will cause you even more trouble.
You'll now be running the Homebrewed version of openssl instead of the
(crippled) El Capitan version.
Just to repeat myself: no problem here using stock Mac OS X 10.11.3. You
must have somehow borked your system before.
