LMS caches HTTP fetches and with chunked http (i.e. HLS, DASH) streams are made up of typically 3-6 sec chunks of audio each fetch with http so you can see there are a lot of http fetches that will be cached. With HLS there are even more http fetches for the playlist which is updated about every 2 secs. I don't know the default LMS cache expiry timeout but if it is say 15 minutes - then cache size should level out after 15 minutes.
