Getting back to the rebufferign issue. After thinking about the symptoms - I think I understand the issue and defender is not the problem - transcoding with socketwrapper is at the centre. The key is that Listen Again streams work OK but Live streams don't Live streams are different to many radio station in that audio is generated in realtime. If you start a stream "now" the system cannot fill a buffer with 10 sec of audio without waiting for 10 secs before playing. Radio Paradise/Soma etc are not live so the fact that they work like "Listen Again". Slow stream like 48k/96k didn't work because data didn't arrive fast enough for transcoding process or perhaps not enough data has been received to start playing. As non UK users I get 6 secs chunk were 32k byte for 48kbps and 77kbytes for 96kbps stream. On 2 core system with slower processor, socketwrapper has to create 3 processes to transcode the data and I think some sort of deadlock is happening if not enough data has been initially received to "prime the pump". So as a test I have tweaked a few of the parameters in the DASH.pm file to effectively start 10-20 seconds behind "live" so that a bigger buffer of data can be built up. Attach is a replacement for DASH.PM in the BBCiPlayer plugin directory. Save and unzip and replace existing DASH.pm file and then restart LMS. I would hope that 320kbps stream could play without rebuffering. 48kbps may probably rebuffer. If it improves the situation then I know I'm in the right path. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: DASH.pm.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=21343| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
