Hi Tim,
Not really a lot of magic to this. An alternate key is just a character field in your table that you create a unique
index for in your CASE tool or with Oracle admin tools. Just like the email address in the PlumUser table is an
alternate key for the userid. Integer ids (surrogate keys) don't make much sense to anyone in a pull down menu, so you
just find some other table attribute/column that is unique to a row, build a unique index for it in Oracle and Plum
should pick it up during the synch process.
I know absolutely squat about Oracle, so I can't help you there.

I can't do this (or don't know how) to create the alternate key in
Oracle. I will google it but off the top of my head I just can't think
of it.

You should be able to do this (at least in SQL Server 2K) by adding an
Alternate Key to the column you want to display on the DB, then go to
the
IDE, sync with DB, go to the table with the display column in it, check
the
select in the IDE called "Simple alternate key" to make sure it picked
up
your Alt Key from the DB. Then, it seems you have to completely delete
and
recreate the CFM pages where your want the filtered select. Then, regen
your code (maybe better to rerun your setup, I'm not sure), and this
worked
for me (after a lot of trial and error... ugh).
Hope this helps,
Aaron

Sorry for for being a dumbass I know to just open the code and change
the displaycolumn.
Is there a way in future release of Plum to add the ability to
manipulate this in the IDE?
