The cf_2cfmodule is a great tool. Here are a few lessons learned from
testing a deployment of PLUM on a shared hosting environment. It was hairy
at first, but quite manageable:

1. cf_2cfmodule was 99.9% perfect -- i found only two dup instances, one on
display divots and one on customize (choose layout). It of course would be
nice to have the option at code generation time, but the tool worked very
well.

2. Many hosts do not allow cfdirectory which is used by StylesheetAPI.cfc.
This can easily be hardcoded once known layouts are created, but in my case,
the host supported a substitute cfx tag that limited directory control to
the root of my account.

3. Also related to stylesheets are several uses of <cfif fileExists()>
which was forbidden by this particular host. Since i knew I had a
printStyleSheet, i shorted out those references with a boolean value.

4. Obviously client management is limited to cookies for many hosts.

5. I had to change the component path declaration to use a slash instead of
a dot  on global.cfm
            //Application.components = Replace(Application.mappingRoot, "/",
"") & ".components";    //out of box code
            Application.components = Application.mappingRoot &
"/components"; //changed in order to work on
host

When I did this the first time, it took many hours to find all the issues
(with no debugging or robust error messages), but now that i know the
catches, it's about 20 minutes to doctor up these few things. Good work
Team Churvis! Anyone else try deploying a PLUM app on shared host?
