But that's just my point -- no matter how you try to describe a "minimum
requirements" list to the average developer, he will often interpret that
as, "As long as the developer allows these things, my Plum app will run,"
but that's not the case for Plum apps or any other non-Plum apps, because
that host may restrict another tag or function that one would reasonably
think should be allowed, but is nonetheless used by the application (or the
Plum Framework).

Perhaps something like, "IMPORTANT! If your shared host allows these minimum
requirements, but restricts the use of other tags, functions, and/or
capabilities of ColdFusion Server, your application may malfunction. To be
sure, thoroughly review your application for restricted code according to
your shared host's terms of use, and also rigorously stage your application
on your shared host (just as you should with any operating environment)
before releasing into production."

So this statement combined with the list I published earlier should do it.
Please let me know if you (or anyone else) runs into problems on a shared
host, as I may need to add one or two more minimum requirements depending on
how restrictive the majority of shared hosts are.

How does that sound?

I don't think a shared host can effectively restrict CFOBJECT or
CreateObject() since CFMX6.X became popular, because many people instantiate
their components in either the Application or Session scopes, but I wouldn't
be surprised if there are a few paranoid shared hosts still out there.
