I remember reading somewhere that the built-in Plum Content Editor relies on 
exposed services that ie makes available but firefox does not.  I think Active 
edit may rely on the same exposed services?

I tried using ActivEdit about 4/5 months ago and had the same issues.
So, under the realization that I've so many more things to do, gave
up. I'd be interested in seeing a solution if it becomes available.
