I guess the same backlight issue has been reported as bug 3698: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=3698 And 6749207: On Toshiba M5, the backlight will become low after resume http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6749207 Do you have the scanpci output for this machine? That is the pci vendor and device id for the intel video hardware? Is it a "Intel i852GM/i855GM GMCH" ?
