I have a Dell Optiplex 360 computer, and reproduce this power off problem. The workaround is:
Write in file /usr/lib/hal/sunos/hal-system-power-shutdown-sunos before the "init 5" line: /usr/sbin/psradm -f 1 2 If you have one processor, use "-f 1". If you have one processor dual-core use "-f 1 2". Reference: http://tecnolovers.skhizos.com/?q=node/55 Save the file and shutdown the machine.
