aha thanks. the machine runs ok OSOL except the
video - shoudl fall back to VESA drivers.

nope. If I try to use the nvidia drivers
the laptop locks up. Ubuntu 10.04 runs fine
the NVIDIA drivers.

Im using now the laptop under VESA mode. Anyway since
this is a very ok laptop but ugly enough to carry around
I will put 4,5 virtual machines on it and let it on my rack.
I can easily enable ZFS dedup for a ZFS filesystem where I
can store these vms and lets see.

This could be a crazy and simple way to run FreeBSD, Linux,
in less 100W ! Anyway I need these vms for www.systemdatarecorder.org

thanks,
stefan
