I don't for a minute believe Bush et al just stood by and let it happen. I
think they were actively involved in making it happen.
After all, PNAC needed a "New Pearl Harbor" to implement their plans for
fascist takeover. What a perfect opportunity. No one else would have
benefited from such an attack.
And Al Qaeda can barely coordinate a suicide bombing, let alone an attack of
the magnitude of 9/11.

I wonder if any of these links will enable progressive
thinkers to move past the two dominant theories-Let It
Happen On Purpose (LIHOP) and what I like to call the
Outta Da Blue theory (ODB.) I, for my part, find it
impossible to accept anything other than Made It
Happen On Purpose
(MIHOP.) History is replete with examples of
governments creating incidents to enable war. Fewer
people died on 9/11/01 than die in car crashes every
year, or die from lung cancer, so a cynical calculus
made by cynical power mad men easily could envision
how a 9/11/01 would both cover up the stolen 2000
election and support Bush as a War President and get
the policies of his corporate owners passed.
