Boredom and/or curiosity have driven lots of people to start trying to do
all sorts of things -- spec-compliant SGML parsers in JavaScript, Common
Lisp interpreter/compilers in Forth, whatever. But while boredom and/or
curiosity are enough to get people started, they are almost never enough to
get people to finish.
The result is lots of half-done junk lying around.
