Hello, I'm writing an application which has to generate a PDF document with unicode text. The text can be any unicode character (e.g. latin-, cyrillic-, greek- but also japanese- and chinese-characters). The text is user input so there is no chance for me to know at the beginning which characters I have to draw on the PDF.
Because of this I first tried to use the large unicode font "Arial Unicode MS" which contains all unicode 2.0 characters. But if I embedd the font into the PDF (to be portable) the filesize increases dramatically (~14 MB). I know that PoDoFo is able to create font subsets (PdfDocument::CreateFontSubset) but this method only generates a subset containing all characters defined by the encoding. Is there a way to create a font subset with only those characters that I want (say characters 0x0000 - 0x0100, 0xA000 - 0xA400 and 0xAC00 - 0xD700) ? Or even more user friendly: Is PoDoFo able to create the minimal font subset on its own at the end of printing ? Thanks for your help.
